Writly is on the App Store.
If you’re already a Writly user, you can download it now and sign in with your existing account. Everything syncs - your matters, contacts, time entries, and calendar are all there.
If you’re new to Writly, this is a good time to take a look.
What’s in the app
The iPhone app does the things you actually need on your phone:
Track time from anywhere. Log time entries from the courthouse, from your car between meetings, or from the couch at 9pm when you remember the call you forgot to bill. Pick the matter, enter the hours, add a description, save. Five seconds.
Check your calendar. Your Outlook calendar syncs with Writly, so your depositions, hearings, client meetings, and deadlines are all in one place. No toggling between apps.
Manage matters and contacts. Pull up a matter to see linked contacts, tasks, deadlines, and notes. Look up a client’s phone number or email without digging through Outlook.
Send invoices. Review and send invoices from your phone. See what’s been paid, what’s outstanding, and what’s overdue.
Why mobile matters for solo attorneys
The research is clear: attorneys who record time the same day they work it bill 25-40% more than those who reconstruct later. But “the same day” is hard when your billing software only lives on your laptop.
The whole point of the Writly mobile app is to close that gap. You worked two hours this morning - log it before lunch while you still remember the details. You finished a call in the parking lot - bill it before you start driving.
The attorneys who capture the most revenue aren’t working more hours. They’re capturing more of the hours they already work.
What’s not in the app (yet)
Document management isn’t in the mobile app right now. You can manage documents from the web app on your desktop. We’ll bring it to mobile when it makes sense - but creating legal documents on a 6-inch screen wasn’t the priority. Getting your time entries and invoices right was.
